Day 1 (D) HOME, ALICE SPRINGS
Passengers from all states fly to Alice Springs where we are met by our Seniors Coach Tours representative and transferred to our home for three nights, Heavitree Gap Outback Lodge. Depending on flight arrival times, enjoy a short introductory tour of Alice Springs during the afternoon, visit Anzac Hill and the Royal Flying Doctor base. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink and dinner together at the resort.

Day 2 (B,L,D) ALICE SPRINGS, WEST McDONNELL RANGES
Today we visit the West McDonnell Ranges. Pause at the John Flynn Memorial, visit Simpson Gap, Stanley Chasm (picnic lunch here), Ormiston Gorge and the Ochre Pits, whose coloured clays are used for Aboriginal ceremonial occasions.

Day 3 (B,D) ALICE SPRINGS DESERT PARK, OLD TELEGRAPH STATION
A morning visit to the award-winning Alice Springs Desert Park where we see many exhibits, including the amazing birds of prey display. This afternoon we visit the Old Telegraph Station before some free time in Alice Springs.

Day 4 (B,L,D) ALICE SPRINGS, KINGS CANYON
Today we commence our journey south and travel the Stuart Highway to Erldunda, then westward to Kings Canyon, with lunch at Kings Creek Station. Enjoy an afternoon walk along the canyon floor, maybe enjoy a helicopter ride (own expense) to view the canyon cliffs. Simply stunning! Home tonight, Kings Canyon Resort.

Day 5 (B,L,D) KINGS CANYON, YULARA
This morning we depart Kings Canyon and travel to Yulara, morning cuppa on route as we travel the Lasseter Highway. A later lunch on arrival at the Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Time to visit the Centre prior to arriving at our home for two nights, Outback Pioneer. Later view the sunset and the changing colours of Uluru.

Day 6 (B,L,D) ULURU, KATA TJUTA
Early risers will have the opportunity to watch the sunrise over Uluru (Ayers Rock) before breakfast. A leisurely day soaking in the atmosphere of the “red centre” as we visit nearby Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). Picnic lunch here. During the afternoon, if you wish, take a helicopter ride for a bird’s eye view of Uluru or Kata Tjuta (own expense).

Day 7 (B,D) YULARA, ERLDUNDA, COOBER PEDY
A slightly earlier start today as we return to the Stuart Highway at Erldunda, morning cuppa here, and then travel south to Kulgera and Marla, our luncheon destination. During the afternoon we continue to Coober Pedy. Home for two nights, the Opal Inn.

Day 8 (B,L,D) COOBER PEDY
A relaxing day as we explore this unique outback town. Visit two underground churches, each quite different from the other, the town golf course, enjoy lunch in an opal mine, and learn a little of the art of opal mining, cutting and polishing. Browse in the excellent Umoona opal shop. Visit the nearby Breakaways, magic views over these rocky outcrops, and see the famous dog fence, built to stop the spread of wild dogs.

Day 9 (B,L,D) COOBER PEDY, WILLIAM CREEK, OODNADATTA TRACK, MARREE, LEIGH CREEK
We leave the lunar-like landscape of Coober Pedy and travel to William Creek where we join the southern end of the Oodnadatta Track and travel along part of the original route to the Ghan. Visit Coward Springs, Marree and Lyndhurst, arriving at Leigh Creek, a service town for the nearby Leigh Creek coalfields which feed the Port Augusta power station. Our home for tonight is the Leigh Creek Tavern.

Day 10 (B,L,D) LEIGH CREEK, PARACHILNA, HAWKER, PORT AUGUSTA
From Leigh Creek we continue south, with a morning tea stop at the famous Prairie Hotel at Parachilna. On to Hawker, visit the Wilpena Panorama, a 30 metre circular painting depicting the Flinders Ranges. During the afternoon visit the Kanyaka Station ruins and the Quorn railway station, home of the Richi Pichi railway which runs on the old Ghan railway tracks. A short journey to Port Augusta and our overnight home, Standpipe Gulf Motor Inn.

Day 11 (B,D) PORT AUGUSTA, PORT PIRIE, ADELAIDE
We visit the award winning Wadlata Outback Centre, a “tunnel in time” depicting early development of the area including the original Ghan. Morning cuppa in Port Pirie then, during the afternoon, we continue to Adelaide and our home for two nights, Comfort Inn Anzac Highway.

Day 12 (B,D) ADELAIDE, VICTOR HARBOR
Today we visit Adelaide’s seaside holiday playground, Victor Harbor. Enjoy a horse-drawn tram ride across the causeway to Granite Island, home of a penguin colony. Return to Adelaide via Goolwa and historic Strathalbyn.

Day 13 (B) ADELAIDE, HOME
A morning city sights tour of Adelaide prior to boarding flights from Adelaide to our home ports. Some flights will be direct flights, others may fly with a stop on route. So concludes a most interesting and enjoyable journey across the continent. For Melbourne passengers, coach transfers are available to Southern Cross Station Coach Terminal or Forest Hill Chase.
